Future Plans: Becoming an Equine Rehab Nurse

I have a VERY exciting school update to share with you all! I am less than three weeks away from finishing my courses. I also got to pick my electives, and I chose courses for a career as a veterinary assistant! I’m thrilled because my long-term goal is to become an equine rehab nurse. I want to open my own rescue/non-profit that focuses on rehabilitating animals, specializing in horses. I also envision a non-profit outpatient center for people dealing with trauma, mental disorders/illnesses, etc. I’m developing highly specialized programs to connect animals and humans in my non-profit, too! My next blog post WILL update you that I have graduated with my high school diploma with a focus on being a veterinary assistant!

For my electives, I am taking Veterinary Assistant 1, 2, and 3 courses, General Science, and Algebra 1, which are helping me gain the skills and knowledge I need for my future career.

Now, let’s talk about the exciting news from my farm. My chicken and duck egg production is back up after fixing and retouching the birds’ coop! The turkey is currently molting, so she is not laying any eggs. Be sure to contact me to place your order or get on my list for fresh, delicious eggs!

I also made a new sign for the property using my Cricut machine. The sign includes two QR codes: one labeled “CONTACT HERE” and the other labeled “NEWS BOARD.” The “CONTACT HERE” QR code links to our contact information, making it easier for neighbors to reach us. The “NEWS BOARD” QR code takes you to a webpage with the latest updates about Duffield Farms. I created the sign to make our property seem friendlier and more accessible to neighbors passing by. The Cricut machine helped me cut out the letters and QR codes, giving the sign a professional look. Feel free to scan the QR codes for more information!
